Choose Costa Rica for Yoga Practice

Educational vacations are a great experience because it gives a person a chance to learn new skills, like a language or a meditative practice. costa rica yoga is a unique way to practice.

La Escuela Del Sol, steps away from the ocean on one side and only a short distance from three waterfalls on the other, is a great place to study because a person can combine classes in Spanish with classes in Yoga. The school offers college credit for their Spanish language program. The opportunities for study don't end there, however. There are also classes in Poi (fire dancing) and surfing. Ever wanted to get a Scuba Certification? The school offers that option as well.

Each student chooses whether to stay at the school one week or four. If going to La Escuela Del Sol in costa rica yoga classes, the type taught there is Hatha Vinyasa. Hatha yoga is generally slow, paced and gentle. It will be likely to cover the basic poses. Vinyasa indicates that movement is in harmony with breath. It tends to be a relatively vigorous style of yoga. It is based on yoga poses called sun salutations. You can choose to either combine Costa Rica Yoga study with Spanish classes or just head there for yoga practice. The school has a yoga only option. They do not allow people to enter the classes who are not students at La Escuela Del Sol.

While participating in Costa Rica Yoga or studying anything else, take the chance to explore your surroundings. Montezuma is one of the adventure capitals of Costa Rica. When not in one of the costa rica yoga classes, a person can live on the edge, touring by ATV or zip-lining. Some excursions for those not quite as adventurous are a hike to Montezuma Falls and a Giant Turtle Egg Laying tour. Both those activities are included for all students. The egg laying tour is only available July through October.

Some activities are only for those who are staying two weeks or more. There is a choice between zip-lining in the forest canopy or taking a horseback ride on the beach to El Chorro waterfalls. The horseback ride is only available on the weekends. Students can also choose optional excursions, which will cost extra. There are few schools that can offer the beauty of a Costa Rica Surf School. Crystal blue water washes up on long, sandy beaches. When you visit Costa Rica, your vacation can be enhanced by hours spent with knowledgeable instructors who will guide you through the proper techniques of surfing. From Beginners to Advanced Surfers

A Costa Rica Surf School has access to beaches that offer several different types of waves for different levels of surfers. There are beaches that have gentle waves that are just right for teaching beginners all of the safety aspects of surfing without subjecting them to more dangerous situations. There are also beaches that offer more of a challenge for surfers who have been surfing a little longer. If you are a beginner, expect to spend most of the first day on the beach, learning how to approach the waves. Experienced surfers can expect to head straight out into the surf for their first lessons.

All inclusive: Studies and Costa Rica Yoga

I found my next vacation spot. Okay, so I'd have to spend some time studying while I'm there, but why not study the extracurricular activities while I'm at it? I figure I need to balance my traditional studies with some Costa Rica Yoga (sounds very sensual, doesn't it?) so that I can go home a well rounded individual. Finding a way to justify it to myself will make it easier to convince Mom and Dad to let me study abroad.

I can just picture myself out on the warm sand of Costa Rica, stretching slowly into each new yoga pose while I watch the surf coming and going. I think I'll take advantage of some other English speaking adventures, like surfing, scuba diving and poi. Imagine scuba diving off he coast of Costa Rica. The waters are so blue and the colors so vivid under the surface. (Note to self: bring a brightly colored bikini to Costa Rica). Poi, which is fire dancing and quite frankly sounds a bit unsafe yet adventurous, will certainly provide some great travel-log! Surfing is not a sport I've ever attempted. I have a knack for the old saying, "If something can go wrong it will". The last thing I want is to get taken down by a monster wave and end up with salt water coming out my nose when the local hunk has to administer mouth-to-mouth because I was hit in the head by my surf board. Okay, so that is a little extreme and unlikely, but it could happen, right?

Yes, I think Costa Rica Yoga is calling my name. I am definitely signing up for school in Costa Rica. Palm trees and yoga, ready or not here I come! I wonder if flip-flops will be approved attire for inside classes? (Note to self: pack 10 pair).

Fire Poi a New Vacation Adventure

Are you looking for something new to do that requires dedication and determination? Are you seeking a new and different sort of adventure? Well, I was and I think I found the perfect thing on my recent vacation. Sure, you can go to a tropical island and scuba dive, swim, maybe even learn to hula dance. While you are there you can also so to a luau or some other type of "island" entertainment and be amazed by the actions of the dancers and performers using fire poi. How would you like to learn to actually use these fire poi balls and amaze and entertain your friends and yourself? Why not make your vacation in paradise a learning experience? There are schools that offer classes in this art.

Fire poi involves balls on flexible material that are held in your hands and swung in circular patterns. It originally started in New Zealand as a performance art by the Maori people over 3000 years ago. Today it has developed into a hobby and exercise program also.

The programs for fire poi last anywhere from a week to a month. A week program will get you started on the basics while a month (4 week) program will make you an expert. They teach you all the basic skills you need to know including fire safety along with the moves that make up the actual fire poi "show". This includes things such as weaves, which are one of the basic moves. Other moves such as butterflies and wraps, which are progressively more difficult and stem from the basic weave moves you will learn. If you take one of the longer courses you will learn moves such as flower and further tricks like hyperloops and advanced spinners where the poi are passed behind your back and under your leg.

I wanted something new and interesting on my last vacation and this was really the perfect thing. Throw in a little surfing, scuba diving and yoga to relax along with your fire poi class and it's a perfect time. Many schools offer all of these courses and more. They are definitely something to consider for a new adventure!

It is just down to you which course to take and which level you are at. Course levels are conveniently placed at different times throughout the day, giving you the flexibility (if you pardon the pun) to try out some of the other courses that run alongside the Costa Rica yoga classes.

Among the other classes that are on offer with Yoga is the chance to take scuba diving lessons in the beautiful and eye-pleasing waters of Costa Rica. Once you have completed the course with qualified instructors you will be awarded with a CMAS 1 Star Diving Certification if you pass, this is an award recognized as the equivalent of PADI’s Open Water Diving Certification.

You might also like to try out surfing lessons on the Pacific Ocean which also can be taken out with your Costa Rica yoga lessons. Costa Rica is known for its great surfing due to the consistency of waves. You have no need to worry about missing out because of a smooth sea!

Check out the informative website of the La Escuela Del Sol School at http://www.laescueladelsol.com/inicio/ where you can learn all about the amazing opportunities open to you, including fire-dancing lessons and learning to speak Spanish in one of the most extraordinary and beautiful locations in the world… well worth swapping the classroom for!
