Learning Spanish in Costa Rica With Fun

Why learn Spanish in Costa Rica?

Perhaps, you would like join the millions of tourists who come to Costa Rica each year to enjoy its sandy beaches and numerous national parks and reserves with countless protected bird, mammal, and reptile species. In addition, some consider Costa Rica the top fishing destination in Central America and a prime destination for surfers. Perhaps most importantly, “Ticos” (what Costa Ricans call themselves), are not only famous for their hospitality but unlike most Spanish speaking countries, Ticos are also known for their very understandable accent.

Where to learn Spanish in Costa Rica?

One place to learn spanish incosta rica is in Montezuma, on the southern Nicoya Peninsula, at La Escuela Del Sol that offers a Spanish immersion program to learn Spanish quickly while enjoying a tropical paradise. The Spanish language program is a one to four week, college level course giving the student the opportunity to practice with locals and learn in a fun and supportive environment. Here, one can learn Spanish in Costa Rica and receive college credit with courses geared to the university level.

Spanish Instruction and More

Two hours of classroom instruction and two hours of applied learning, to reinforce what you have learned, are each Monday to Friday. Applied learning might include time with your instructor or fellow students in various planned activities. During your afternoon session, you will have the opportunity to use your Spanish skills with Montezuma locals in the center of town. Very importantly, the school only accepts new students every two weeks so classmates do not change and quickly overcome inhibitions facilitating development of conversational skills. In a three or four week, program integration with new students occurs once, if at all.

While you learn spanish incosta rica, the school also offers instruction in yoga, poi (fire dancing), surfing, and scuba diving. You can enroll for these sessions in combination with language classes or, perhaps, a friend or loved one can attend these classes.

Plenty of Adventure

Montezuma is one of the adventure capitals of Costa Rica; however, despite its popularity, Montezuma has beautiful jungle beaches often almost deserted, waterfall hikes, and surfing. During student downtime and weekends, there is time to explore Montezuma and its surroundings. First week students can enjoy a Montezuma waterfall hike. For multiple week participants, there is a choice of a guided canopy tour or a ride to private waterfalls on horseback. Optional excursions are available such as hiking in Cabo Blanco National Park, snorkeling or scuba diving around Isla Tortuga, beach horseback riding, and deep-sea fishing.
