Yoga and Surfing

Surfing, real surfing is indescribable. There's just something about it, and it not's the

heart pounding, adrenaline pumping rush you feel as waves crash and surf spills about you. No, it’s

something more than that. It’s when you’re waiting for a wave, you know that big one you're really hoping

for? That one you can tell your friends you rode and rode and would have kept riding forever? It’s then,

when you’re waiting ebbing softly in warm tropical waters that you look up and you see it. Pinks and purples

and crimson colors impossible to imagine, you see the sunrise across Costa Rica and you smile. Your here.

You did it. Your surfing.

Surfing is an art, it's something that gets in your blood and won't let go. Once you get

that vibe, once surfing is in your mind and in your heart Costa Rica will call. Surfers from around the

world know Costa Rica has some of the best and most consistent waves anywhere. In Costa Rica you’ll find

oceans warmed by tropical sun, endless miles of coast line, and a country filled with an exotic beautiful

culture. Hundreds of tiny villages dot the coast line of Costa Rica, happy to teach a variety of activites

from surfing and yoga, to horseback riding and hiking. Surfing

is a community, a community of likeminded people who enjoy activities such as surfing and yoga and who seek the thrill of the next big

wave.

And it's not surprising, surfing and yoga

go hand in hand. Mastering balance and form, building strength and flexibility, surfing and yoga offer serenity. Costa Rica has without a doubt

some of the best surfing and yoga in the world. Many schools

and resorts in Costa Rica teach both surfing and yoga and the

beautiful weather year round allows visitors to experience the best of both. If you enjoy adventurous fun

activities, Costa Rica is the place for you.

Costa Rica Vacations

I love Costa Rica vacations! Who doesn't

love vacations, right? They are fantastic. However, I tend to feel guilty going away for an extended period

of time. Sure, I get to relax and usually see with my own eyes what I usually take in from a picture. I do

bring back my own great pictures and neat souvenirs for my friends and family. But still--the guilt of using

up so much time unproductively lingers.

Recently I discovered a new way to vacation, and I'm very excited about it! You see, I

feel guilty about my precious Costa Rica vacations because my

time is so limited; I'm an overly busy person. But from now on when I decide take one of my plethora of Costa Rica vacations, I’m going to spend it learning something

I've always wanted to learn. Think about it--so many people would love to learn to ride horses, ski, dive,

surf or emerge themselves in some new hobby like yoga. Costa Rica

vacations
--well, vacations in general really-- are a great time to do these things! The time away will

still be relaxing--you will be submersed in a subject that you have a great passion for. Plus, all of the

other perks and purposes of vacations are still there.

www.laescueladelsol.com is a great example of what I am talking about! The resort,

located in my favorite vacation spot, Costa Rica, offers so many cool activities including two of my

favorites, surfing and yoga! Plus when I go, I will be taking one of my beloved Costa Rica vacations. I'll still come back with pictures and

souvenirs. And if my guilty conscience isn't wiped out completely, it will be severely diminished because I

will be able to surf when I get back home! Many of the schools (like the website listed above) located in

hot vacation spots also offer dual courses, so if I wanted I could learn yoga at the same time I'm becoming

an expert surfer. So from now on, my always long-awaited Costa

Rica vacations
will even be productive!

Costa Rica Surf Camp

If you’re like me, you like to travel to South America and you like to surf. Also, if you’re like me, you’re a terrible surfer and need a Costa Rica surf camp, like the one at La Escuela del Sol. This Costa Rica surf camp is located in Montezuma, Costa Rica and offers a lot of the usual things you’d expect. Surfing (duh), sitting on the beach (my fave), and also yoga. The yoga part is a nice way for you to relax and distress from after the embarrassment of face planting in the shallows all day. Lucky for you, at La Escuela del Sol you classes including surfing, yoga, fire dancing, and Spanish so learn how to say “Yes, I did ride some gnarly waves at a Costa Rican surf camp brah!”

Students at this Costa Rica surf camp can take any one or two courses per week with programs going anywhere from 1to 4 weeks. Everyone goes on a waterfall hike and a turtle egg laying tour (in season). Two, three and four week students are also offered a zip line canopy tour or a horseback riding tour. College credit is available. Seriously, college credit for going to a Costa Rica Surf Camp! Why didn't I have this in college?

Visitors stay at the small, family-owned hotel, La Cascada, built into the jungle, next to an awesome waterfall and across road from the ocean. The open air yoga studio and restaurant are gorgeous and sitting in a hammock on the beautiful beaches is a nice way to unwind after a day of surf. And you can get some real feeling for the country by exploring Montezuma, which has a lot of personality for a small town. So what are you waiting for? The Costa Rica surf camp is not going to come to you!
